WHO WE ARE?

 

LatinasWIN (Women in Norman) is a community organization of professional women from the U.S. and from Latin American nations.  Enriched by various academic backgrounds,  work and intercultural experiences, LW members are committed to support the educational aims of NPS Elementary School Hispanic American students and their families as well as to provide support and encouragement to OU's Hispanic American student community.

 

LW programs, activities and communications with students and their families have assisted them in developing human skills to empower them as caring citizens and as parents to advocate for their children.  Human skills such as tolerance for differences, ability to deal with change, love and respect for their heritage while respecting and caring for the positive values Americans live by.

 

LW members' commitment to our programs and relationships established exclusively for the young Hispanic- American students and their families is helping them assimilate in Norman and hopefully there will be no longer the fear of hardships and exclusion.
