Mission:

Empower and strengthen Hispanic/Latinx students, families, and communities through leadership building and enrichment.

Program Goals:

Enhance Sense of Community and Leadership

● Culturally responsive approach

● Global education

● Create opportunities for students and families to engage with community programs. Ex: Moore/Norman Technology Center, Norman Public Library, OU Hispanic Journalism Association, South Central Climate Science Center

 

Academic and Social Enrichment

● STEAM-based academic programming

● Homework and academic support

● Mentoring: OU Spanish language service learning students

● MindUp social/emotional lessons

● Visual and performing arts

● Sports clinics Strengthen

 

Connection Between Home and School

● Parent workshops focused on NPS, health and wellness, and community resources.

● Parent/family networking

 

Family Services and Outreach

● Deliver English Language Immersion experience weekly to family members of Truman students. Goal is to increase parental involvement by helping parents become familiar with school staff and the basic communication skills needed to help their child be successful.
